Saint Malo - Sablons (St Servan)

Due to popular demand, the Saint Malo marinas have now been split into 2 separate pages.

The marinas are very different and worthy of their own page each.

The large marina at Les Bas-Sablons is at Saint Servan. In theory an excellent marina with very good access (sill is approx 2m), convenient with good facilities. However, it has big problems.

St Servan is a lovely town and well worth exploring in its own right. Although a Saint Malo marina, it is a long walk from Saint Malo (approx 20 mins). St Servan marina is easy to access at most states of tide, either before going into St Malo or up the Rance or even whilst traveling from say Granville and around the Brittany coast.

Visitors moorings are on the end of Pontoon A. First Pontoon as you come in. I do not understand why they do not put the visitors on this end of the pontoon. There is a bad wave surge at the end of the pontoon - even in calm weather. The noise from the ferry is a pain, but the noise of the ramp moving as the lorries load is loud. If the local boats were moored at the far end, it would solve all the problems

At St Servan a yacht club had been opened above the marina office (I think this is it?)

ST SERVAN
* Le Hoggar, St Servan –facade has improved and it is still a popular place for those enjoying a couscous à l’originale - cheap and good in Moroccan style.

L’Atre, tel: 2 99 81 68 39. A popular small restaurant alongside the Tour Solidor. Ate there twice it was so good. No problems with the service. Admittedly not the cheapest at approx. Euros 45/50 per head. (Phil 2011)

Yacht Club de Dinard
On the food + sailing topic the restaurant of the Yacht Club de Dinard has now reopen.
Knowing the chef, the lunch menu will be competitive and the food very correct. Dinner 35/40 € but in long days May June you can enjoy the sea view and the club atmosphere. Not so many tables so reservation preferably. Denis
