Marine Radio Weather times and frequencies – Shipping Forecasts

When in a marina, wanting to do the next leg of your journey, the weather forecast is all important. You may not have access to the internet which would more recently be the preferred source of information and sites can be found on http://www.digimap.gg/weather_forecast_0

Below are radio frequencies and times for weather forecasts in the Channel Islands and immediate Northern Brittany / Normandie area. All times are UTC unless otherwise stated.

Guernsey - 1116KHz MW (93.2 FM) at 0630, 0730, 0830?

Jersey - 1026KHz MW (88.8MHz FM) at 0725 0825 1725 Mon - Fri and 0825 Sat & 0825 Sun

Jersey VTS - Channel 82 (should be a notice first on Channel 16) at 0645, 0745, 0845 local and 1245, 1845, 2245 UTC

St Helier VTS – wind speed and gusts – Channel 18 every 2 mins. Range approx 5 miles

Radio 4 – 198KHz LW at 0048, 0520, 1201, 1754 (local time) – we are in the Portland area

French transmissions at French times
Channel 79 - Cap Frehel (near St Cast) at 0545, 0803, 1203*, 1633, 2003
Channel 79 - Bodic (near Lezardrieux) at 0533, 0745, 1145*, 1615, 1945
Channel 80 – Cherbourg (Jobourg) at 0715, 1545, 1915
Channel 80 – Granville at 0703, 1533, 1903
*1 May to 30 Sept
