Redon town is the limit of the 25Nm of navigation on the River Vilaine from sea. It then becomes part of the Nantes to Brest canal system where it is possible (with an extremely low air draft) to venture up to the River Rance to St, Malo and then out to sea.

Although sheltered, we have found pontoons at Redon far too short for our 42’ Fairline Squadron. Redon is a large town but with close access to the French TGV system from the station. Our view of Redon, from a boating holiday point of view, is that there are very many more attractive ports and marinas elsewhere.
